Product Designer—LegalReach
Startup: Law Practice Industry | San Francisco, CA | July 2011

I was part of a team of engineers and visionaries building an attorney-to-attorney referrals platform to connect 1.1M+ Attorneys to their peers.

Responsibilities:

  • Defined a design strategy which included being ruthless with design decisions and concentrating solely on the most important aspects of the product
  • Worked with Attorneys to understand their needs and goals for LegalReach
  • Designed solely in the browser, reusing common elements and existing interactions
  • Learnt and worked with HAML and Git
  • Agile Iteration and testing methods

Achievements:

  • Responsible for initial brand development including logo-mark
  • Rapidly prototyped and shipped version 1.0 of legalreach.com aimed at connecting 1.1M+ Attorneys with their peers

Interaction Designer—VersaPay Corporation
Financial Services Industry | Vancouver, BC | April 2011-July 2011

I worked with the design team to tackle design related challenges including: online/print assets and resources, as well as Frontend development of the Wordpress powered website.

Responsibilities:

  • Designed new assets while keeping with the VersaPay ‘look’
  • Developed and implement code logically and concisely
  • Worked in an Agile Development environment
  • Worked in both team and individual environments

Achievements:

  • Hired on a contract basis after completing a 6-week internship
  • Was responsible for Implementing a complete homepage redesign into HTML/CSS which included new buttons and states, JavaScript interaction and progressive enhancement using CSS3

Provided maintenance and updates for mahonyandsons.com, a PHP driven site.

Responsibilities:

Provided Apple product support and consulting. I have been hired on multiple occasions by those who want more personal, one-on-one consulting.
